World’s First HipHopSodaShop Debuts in Tampa December 18, 2007, Offers Healthful Fast Food, Hot Entertainment and community consciousness

New York, NY – December 6, 2007 –  Today, Dr. Benjamin Chavis, CEO of H3 Enterprises (HTRE), announced the opening of the inaugural HipHopSodaShop in Tampa Bay, FL to take place on December 18, 2007.

The HipHopSodaShop concept is a recipe for success: combine popular music with healthful dining options and flavor with socially-responsible capitalism.  That’s the business model behind H3 Enterprises’ rollout of HipHopSodaShop (HHSS), the first of a worldwide dining franchise that will open in Tampa, Florida on Tuesday, December 18.  The restaurant concept brings together ample portions of healthy food, hip-hop music and video-gaming with a community-conscious approach to business.

New Restaurant Concept Brings Hip-Hop Culture to the Dining Table

“Hip-hop as a cultural force is changing the world as we know it, and young people are at the center of that change,” said Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis, chief executive of H3 Enterprises, Inc., the parent of HHSS, “The HipHopSodaShop is on the one hand a contemporary celebration of the global impact of hip-hop music and culture, and on the other hand it is a unique synergy between entrepreneurial development, stock market investments, and community empowerment."

A longtime social activist, Dr. Chavis is the former head of the NAACP and a co-founder, with hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, of the nonprofit Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, an organization aimed at recapturing the social consciousness of original hip-hop using its popularity to effect social change.

Located at Tampa’s former Bull Ring Sports Bar at 1241 East Fowler Avenue, the 11,000-square-foot space has undergone renovations to become a full-service, conceptually-chic restaurant.  It is equipped with a recording studio, multiple 4’X5’ video screens, tableside video-gaming apparatuses and a DJ/MC booth with surround sound.  Targeted to a youthful demographic, aged 13-35, the restaurant will hold special events like open mic nights, live HD sportscasts and cyber gaming.  An emphasis will be placed on wholesome hip-hop music to appeal to both sexes.  The store will also carry clothing, MP3 players and recorded music.

HipHopSodaShop Offers Menu To Nourish The Mind and Body

The eclectic menu includes limited fried foods and no monounsaturated or polyunsaturated (trans) fats.  The shop will feature “rap” sandwiches with few carbohydrates and a beverage line made with antioxidant-rich white tea and sweetened with chicory syrup instead of sugar.  Clever monikers, sprinkled throughout the menu, are geared to strike a chord with diners while encouraging financial literacy.

Appetizers include: Boneless “Keep It Real” Buffalo Wings, Recording Studio Lump Crabcakes, and Classic Onion Rims.  Prices range from $7 to $10.  Soup and salad options include: Stock Market soup of the day, Rapper’s Delight Cobb Salad, Greek Salad ranging in price from $7 to $11.  Burgers and sandwiches, range from $7 to $10 and include Mama’s BBQ Burger, East Coast Break Dance Wrap, West Coast Graffiti Wrap, and Wall Street Shareholder’s Wrap.  Gourmet pizzas offerings, from $8 to $12, include Meat Lover’s pizza, Chicken Caesar pizza and Margherita pizza.  Dinner entrees, from $9 to $18, include Southern BBQ Chicken, Fish and Chips, Shrimp Scampi and Grilled Salmon.  Desserts ranging from $4 to $6 include: Bananas Foster Cheesecake, Cherry Pie a la Mode, and Messy Dirty Sloppy Chocolate Cake.  As well a selection of fountain drinks (shakes, ice cream sodas and malts), fruit juices, specialty drinks and cocktails, along with domestic and imported beer are available.

Barack Obama Campaign Reaches out to America’s Niche Audiences Through Online Social Networks

Obama creates open dialogue on 19 Million Strong Community Connect Sites – BlackPlanet.com, MiGente.com, AsianAve.com, GLEE.com and Faithbase.com

New York, New York – October 16, 2007 – Community Connect Inc. (CCI), the leading publisher of niche social networking communities, announced presidential candidate Barack Obama has created a member profile on each of the company’s five sites in an effort to excite and engage potential voters.  Since going live on October 5, 2007, the success of the campaign has become evident with Senator Obama’s profiles garnering over 200,000 friends.  In one week, his profile on BlackPlanet.com garnered more friends than his MySpace and Facebook profiles.

“It makes complete sense for political candidates to leverage the power and engagement of our social networks, and the niche minority and affinity audiences we serve,” said Kay Madati, Vice President of Marketing at Community Connect.  “Our audiences are traditionally underrepresented in the political dialogue, and the immediate success of the Obama profiles speaks to the untapped opportunity that politicians have to facilitate a technology enabled grassroots dialogue on their vision for our country.”

Why CCI and Obama

Senator Obama’s campaign approached CCI’s niche social networking communities to facilitate compelling dialogues among passionate constituents.  His presence across BlackPlanet.com, MiGente.com, AsianAve.com, GLEE.com and Faithbase.com allows his messages to disseminate and circulate among highly targeted niche groups, and in turn, gives those audiences a voice on the issues that concern them.

Senator Obama’s profile includes an active question and answer mechanic, regularly updated blogs, behind-the-scenes photos and new videos from the campaign trail.  The profile is updated directly by his official campaigners, and represents a thoughtful, in depth look at his policies.  All together, it is the Obama campaign’s most comprehensive engagement across any social network. As a result of CCI’s targeted platforms, candidates are able to drill down the issues that resonate among specific demographics, allowing for robust profile pages.

One BlackPlanet.com member posted, “I don't normally vote, but if it will help put you [Obama] in office, I will start. I think you [Obama] are one of the most qualified candidates in the running and it's not just because you are black, it's because you stand up for what is right and would make a great leader of this country.”

Continued…

CCI – Consistent Traffic Driver

Barack Obama’s campaign approached BlackPlanet.com because the site has consistently driven traffic to the campaign’s official site.  Senator Obama’s profile was initially created in an effort to engage the sites’ 16 million African Americans who spend considerable time social networking.  This demographic, along with rapidly growing and highly targeted ethnic and affinity groups on other CCI sites, represent a much sought-after organized group of constituents who are eager to partake in the 2008 election.

Madati continues, “Senator Obama’s profiles on our sites exemplify the best of online grassroots campaigning today. Politics has always been a grassroots endeavor – technology and social networking amplify the reach and the engagement for a politician. It flattens the world without diluting or misconstruing the message. Presidential hopefuls are able to reach and engage passionate constituents in unprecedented ways; capitalizing on their ability to motivate groups to participate in the dialogue, register and ultimately vote.”

TYSCOT RECORDS INKS DEALS WITH

ATLANTA ARTISTS AND PARTNERS WITH ATLANTA LABELS &

FILM PRODUCTION COMPANY

(Atlanta, GA) -- Tyscot Records this week completed a blockbuster acquisition calling for several artists and companies based in the Atlanta-metro area into partnership agreements. A press conference was held near the Atlanta airport to announce the deals.

With a plethora of labels downsizing, Tyscot Records, the nation’s oldest running Gospel independent label; set out to ink artist deals with Damita Haddon and Darwin Hobbs and to co-partner with Atlanta-based Frontline Entertainment’s Christopher Lewis, Open River Films, CAJO International (a label owned by Canton Jones aka “CJ”) and more.

Tyscot inked a joint-venture deal with CAJO to produce albums and videos while Tyscot Records will manufacture, market (with consultation from CAJO), and distribute the projects. Some projects under the CAJO umbrella include his wife RAMONA JONES, Grammy-Award nominated THE PASSWORD: ACCESS GRANTED, LOVE JONES, RAMONA JONES, STREET SERMONS and more. “We are going to make projects that are going to be hot,” says CJ.

DARWIN HOBBS launched his debut solo CD Mercy in 1999. He followed with the best-selling Vertical project in 2001.  It featured the gospel smash "Everyday" with Michael McDonald and his stunning gospel rendition of "So Amazing" made popular by Dionne Warwick and Luther Vandross. His last CD peaked at number three on the Billboard Gospel Charts. “This is just awesome,” says Hobbs.

CHRISTOPHER LEWIS, CEO of FRONTLINE ENTERTAINMENT, INC is also an artist, producer, and songwriter, has released three other albums (two of which were released on Light Records) and his DVD “Plugged IN” was featured on BET. Long recognized for his songwriting ability, Lewis took first place honors at BMI's 2002 New Music Nights Showcase. In his own unique way and style, with elements of R& B, Hip Hop, Contemporary Gospel, Neo-soul, Urban Soul, Rap, and Traditional Gospel, all which result in "a new expression of worship."

OPEN RIVERS FILMS, owned by Tammy Johnson Williams has produced many award-winning productions from ‘The Gospel Dream TV Show’, to Bishop Paul Morton’s ministry broadcast to Creflo Dollar’s “Changing Your World” broadcast. The primary goal is to create and develop original programming that will educate, motivate and uplift. Williams also produced Tyscot’s 30th Anniversary DVD currently in stores. Tyscot Records will now become a force to green-light faith-based movies. This venture will also allow Tyscot-Open Rivers Films to manufacture and distribute movies and will release its first movie next year. The venture is looking for scripts and movies that just need finishing funds.

DAMITA HADDON – a singer, songwriter and producer was fresh out of High School, touring with the Gospel theater production "Mama Don't". Later, her self-titled solo debut was released on Atlantic Records in 2000. She has been the lead singer on each of the VOICES OF UNITY CDs and DVDs. She was once a youth pastor with Paula White and Without Walls Church in Tampa, FL. “I am very excited about this opportunity,” says Damita.

All of these artists all centrally located in the Atlanta metro area, will now give Tyscot a dynamic presence in the southern region. Already this year, Tyscot’s Vashawn Mitchell relocated to the ATL from Chicago to head up the music ministry at NEW BIRTH BAPTIST SOUTH. Damita and her husband Deitrick joined the Georgia move recently and The Anointed Pace Sisters were born and raised in the Atlanta metro area and featured in the Tyler Perry Movie ‘Madea’s Family Reunion’ filmed in the Atlanta area along with a Jiffy Lube TV Commercial.

Each representative was present at the press conference and signed their contracts. Many photos are available for the media: Contact Darryl D. Lassiter [darryldlassiter@msn.com] for more.

These deals should boost Atlanta to becoming the major center for Gospel music.  Also because of special event album release parties, concerts, movie premieres and more will enhance the Atlanta metro area economy in the coming months.

Tyscot Records is headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, but also has staff based in Atlanta with its Director of Marketing, Promotions Director, National Sales VP, Publicist and tour coordinator.

Rainbow PUSH Coalition introduce new National Director of Community Affairs, Tommy R. Bennett

CHICAGO (August 17, 2007) -  Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr., founder and president of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, is pleased to announce Tommy R. Bennett, also known as Aruba Tommy, as the organization’s new National Director of Community Affairs.

“I enthusiastically welcome Tommy Bennett to the Rainbow PUSH national staff.” Rev. Jackson said about the organization’s new team member.  “He brings a wealth of experience, dedication and commitment to his position of National Director of Community Affairs, and will strengthen Rainbow PUSH connections throughout the progressive community.”

The Danville, Virginia native is most popular for lending his personality to the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show.

Since joining PUSH, Bennett has already led the organization in service connecting with the families of Dominique Willis, the 21-year-old student shot in Chicago, and Gefery N. Johnson, the 42-year-old man who died after being tasered by Chicago police officers. Bennett played a lead role in planning the funeral of Willis and hosted a press conference at the Johnson home where Rev. Jackson and the family spoke.

As the National Director of Community Affairs, Bennett’s goal is to continue his fight for social service and justice.  In the position he will act as a liaison, leading a listening ear and helping hand, between the organization and the public on a local and national level. Coming out of the lime light the Rainbow PUSH Coalition is confident Bennett will shed some light and bring more to attention to the cause of the organization.

Bennett hopes to be an aid for victims of police brutality and help those facing issues in the realms of employment, legal help, diversity and sexual orientation.

“My ultimate goal is be a community servant to God,” Bennett said. “We are all ministers and I want to encourage people to get involved and volunteer.”

Mr. Bennett’s position as National Director of Community Affairs for the Rainbow PUSH Coalition adds to list of previous work of community service.  He is the former volunteer coordinator for Alderman Sandi Jackson. Before moving to Chicago in 2006 he was an administrator for the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Hampton, Virginia.

Bennett acts as chairman on many boards including: Ryan White Title One Services and Barack Obama’s national steering committee for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender issues.  His active involvement in the community has made this position the perfect platform for him to express his talent.

“God has afforded me the gift of a sense a humor and to attract people.  My mission is to encourage and inspire others.”

The Rainbow PUSH Coalition is a progressive organization protecting, defending and expanding civil rights to improve economic and educational opportunity. The organization is headquartered at 930 E. 50th St. in Chicago. For more information about the RainbowPUSH Coalition, please visit the organization’s website, www.rainbowpush.org or telephone (773) 373-3366.  To get additional information, please call the number listed above.

Pastor Rick Warren’s strong theological background, tireless effort to help others, and unbelievable ministry God has given him to manage are just of a few of the reasons he was chosen by the 2007 Theologian Awards Selection Committee.  This man of God is a true theologian covering every aspect of the church.  “This year’s choice in Pastor Rick Warren could be the most solid choice one could make worldwide,” says founder Reverend Darrell T. Johnson.

In Pastor Warren’s own words, “The world is full of problems.  As Kay and I considered the problems facing the world today, we conclude there are five giants- Five pervasive problems that affect billions of people.  The P.E.A.C.E. Plan attacks the 5 Global Giants of Spiritual darkness, a lack of servant leadership, poverty, disease and ignorance.  These are the ones we want to tackle, believing God gets most of the glory when we attack the biggest giants.  These problems are so huge that they can only be addressed with total dependence on God and with all of us working together to confront them.  As I humbly accept this award, it inspires me even more to believe that as we stand united these five giants can be toppled.  We can do it.  We can make a difference together.  Thanks for this great honor and I will strive to be a worthy recipient.”

Former Theologian of the Year Recipients are:

(2005) Dr. I.V. Hilliard of New Light Christian Center - Houston Texas and (2006) Pastor John P. Kee of New Life Fellowship Church - North Carolina.  It has been proven that the 2005 and 2006 Recipients were good choices; both have reached even greater heights since being chosen as Theologian of the Year.
